Walk 1 - Casalicchio and Capovalle from Amandola Refuge.

This circular walk explores the lower slopes of Monte Amandola, passing through the hamlets of Casalicchio and Capovalle. There are lovely views East into Le Marche as well as West along the valley of the river Ambro.

This walk starts at its high point, at the Rifugio Citta di Amandola (1185m), and follows a circular course to the East. At the Rifugio, there are picnic tables and a children’s play area. Refreshments and food are available at peak times.

Total Time: 3.5 hours
Total Ascent: 410 metres
Total Distance: 7 km

The paths and tracks used on this walk are well defined, but some careful navigation is needed at times. Use of a compass is strongly recommended.
