Walk 3 - Il Pizzo from Fonte Vecchia.

This very rewarding circular walk takes you along an ancient pathway, through characteristic Mediterranean woodlands, to climb one of the imposing Easterly summits of the Sibillini range. The promontory of Il Pizzo, standing at 1769 metres above sea level, bounded to the North by the Ambro Valley and to the South by the Tenna Valley, provides spectacular views East over Le Marche to the Adriatic.

Total Time: 6 hours
Total Ascent: 880 metres
Total Distance: 8.5 km

The paths used are often steep (ascending and descending), and loose rocks underfoot mean that careful footwork is always required, with especial care in the wet. Use of a compass is strongly recommended.
