Walk 16 - Torrente Fiastrone from Bolognola.

The Torrente Fiastrone river starts at the head of the Valle del Fargno and runs for 14 kilometres before entering the man made lake of Lago del Fiastrone. This route explores the high end of the river, making a circular walk around a three kilometre length of Valle del Fargno. You follow the course of the small river as it gains around 250 metres in altitude, but leave it and make your way back down the valley before it ends between the 2,000 metre peaks of Monte Rotondo and Pizzo Tre Vescovi.

The setting of Valle del Fargno, with its steep sides rising to above 1,800 metres, provides a real feeling of being in the mountains, with views to match.

Total Time: 3.5 hours
Total Ascent: 575 metres
Total Distance: 9 km

The paths used for this route are generally easy to follow, with just a couple of places where some careful navigation might be needed. There are some steep ascents and descents, requiring care in slippery conditions.
